How We Came To Be
There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
The Free Art Campaign is not about
developing or perfecting your artistic skills.
The Campaign is ultimately about freedom.
There is a powerful creative force inside of every human being,
and you have the power to manifest it.
Let us begin here: The Free Art Friends believe a revolution can only begin within the homes, hearts, and minds of the American people. Creativity has a significant role in the modernization and evolution of the human consciousness. Art makes you feel. It makes you think, or it makes you forget. It helps us laugh, or cry, or empowers us, or it brings us peace. Your favorite song, or movie, or book. Your favorite photographer or painter or that wonderful lady who lives down the street who crochets baby clothes and blankets. Art tells a story, and connects you to people who feel and think like you.
Have you bought an original piece of art lately? It's hard if you're not a millionaire collector, isn't it?
So... How do we make art more accessible to people who need it?
Ezra Croft said it best, "People need art in their houses. I don't mean Bed-Bath-and-Beyond, dentist office art. They need weird stuff."
Guerilla artists are taking to the streets all over the world. In this trying time of political unrest and social change, it is so essential that we pass on our gifts to other people - so we can share ideas, promote creativity, and spread a little joy in the world.
But you don't have to call yourself an "artist" to enact change. Art has no definition: music, writing, painting, drawing, singing, gardening, raising your family, making people laugh. As long as you are creating, you are doing something right. Whatever it is that makes you come alive, do it with all your passion and all your might and get out there and share it with the world.
Because the world needs it right now. The world needs people who have come alive. The world needs people who dare not passively accept the world they've been given, but rather use the powers they have within to create something new.
If you're willing to try, you can change everything. It's never too late.
